Click for Bigger View. So, I wanted to introduce everyone to one of my favorites. The Sarasa 0.4 by Zebra. (and you thought this blog was all about fountain pens). Tisk, Tisk, man cannot live on Vacuumatics alone. Haven't heard of it? They are sort of hard to get. I bought my first one of these though www.Jetpens.com and also find them at the Kinokuniya Book store in NY. (Trip down from Boston tomorrow for a fresh supply of pen goodness tomorrow) I will leave the reviews up to http://penaddiction.blogspot.com/ but all I can say is: I buy these by the 20 pack. At $1.65 I give them out to people I am trying to convert into pen lovers. These pens make me a 7th day Adventists of pen gospel. They make me want to get on a bike and ride around the Country telling people about these pens. If loving this pen is write, I don't want to be wrong.

Click for better views. If I had a time machine, I would not use it for good or for evil. But what I would do is hop on back to 1940 and head to the nearest store and buy every single Parker Fountain pen that I could find. OK, I might also go place a bet on who wins the world series that year. (just had to Google, it was the Reds, Duh.)
So I pulled these out of the safe yesterday and refilled both of them. I need to get these restored. Speaking of restoring, this guy is amazing. http://munsonpens.wordpress.com/ No, he has not sent me a check to mention his name, but I love the way he photographs and documents his restores. Mad props. Both of these pens are a joy to write with. They make me want to buy nice paper. They make me want to call up strangers and tell them about my pens. (except for you Mr. Johnson, I remember you putting me on the do not call list) Gold has never been my thing, I was always a silver guy, but with pens... bring it. I gotta go make a checklist for something just to write with these now.

Click for better view. If there ever was a pen that if I lost, I would seriously need professional help to get back in the saddle this would be the one. Fairly fat body with a perfect point. I think I bought this in Japan about 10 years ago. So for a disposable pen I really got my moneys worth. I have been "refilling" it for a very long time. There is not a word on it other that "MBP" on the nib. I used this one to sign the paperwork for the house I live in and I have not looked where to buy more of these, but I should own about a hundred as backups. If you know where I can buy another feel free to let me know. I am going to go put it back in the safe at the end of today (kidding... sort of...not really.)
